Laboratory
AEC uses Abaxis system blood machines on premises. This means the clinician can have an overview of the organ and immune systems. We have the ability to do full blood chemistries, including BUN, Creatinine, ALT, etc. The lab also includes machines to check CBC and clotting abilities. We also are able to check for electrolyte imbalances.
AEC also can perform stool checks, heartworm, feline leukemia, FIV, Lyme, and Parvo tests.
We also have the I-stat system which enables us to perform quick tests with very little blood. This system allows monitoring of blood glucose for our diabetic patients and blood gas readings. All of these tests help our emergency vets provide the best possible care to your pet.
Radiology
Animal Emergency Center uses Sound Eklin True DR digital radiography. This provides us with high quality images instantly on our patients. No film developing, chemicals, etc. And, you, the client, take your xrays with you...on a CD.
Our xray has a floating table, allowing us to reposition patients for radiographs with minimal stress. Should you need a copy of your pet's xrays in the future, no problem; all our radiographs automatically upload to a remote server, thus making sure they are archived.
The true beauty of digital xray is that not only does it allow us to view pictures immediately, but also that it is heathier for all. Why? Less exposures are usually needed to get a good picture; this reduces radiation exposure for both our staff & your pet.
